Alpha Psi Passes Diversity Resolution
From the September 2002 AGR Action
Alpha Psi Chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity (University of
Wisconsin - River Falls) recently passed a diversity resolution in response to
the incident on September 20 at Oklahoma State University. This resolution can
be used as a model for all chapters to follow for diversity training:
Whereas the men of the Alpha Psi Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at
the University of Wisconsin-River Falls recognize the need for diversity
awareness amongst its members.
Whereas the future of agriculture is moving toward global markets and a more
diverse customer base.
Whereas the Alpha Psi Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity strive to be the
premier chapter in the premier national agriculture fraternity.
Therefore be it resolved the Alpha Psi Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity
adopt a diversity awareness program
Be it resolved that every member of the Alpha Psi Chapter be required to attend
one diversity event related to human issues per semester, which would include
but not be limited to campus or community supported events.
Be it resolved that this program be monitored and supervised by the Vice Noble
Ruler of Membership Education who will provide a list of events that would apply
to campus events.
Furthermore be it resolved that the fine for missing an events will result in a
fine to be determined by the Membership Accountability Committee with the events
to be completed three weeks before finals week.
Be it finally resolved that this program shall take effect January 1, 2003.
Approved into action October 7, 2002 by majority vote by the men of the Alpha
Psi Chapter.
