Educational Foundation News

This
past spring we held two recruitment schools in the attempt to help our
chapters around the nation take care of their biggest problem: finding and
recruiting quality men to become AGRs. In these schools we go over a basic
sales training format. We teach the VNR -Recruitment and other chapter
members that selling yourself is the first step.
There is a lot more to the school than this, but it is all based on
personalized, year-round recruitment rather than “rushing” once a semester
or year.
On Saturday morning of the school, alumni from the Kansas City area give up
a couple of hours of their time to work one-on-one with each chapter to
develop a written recruitment plan for that year. We would like to thank
those alumni and staff that volunteered time: Dave Anderson, Kevin Barnes,
John Borchers, Erwin Clark, Kevin Dehn, Joe Eddy, David Fearis, Dallas Ford,
Kylo Heller, Leslie Jett, Phil Kirk, Thad Koenigsfeld, Dave Lehman, Jesse
McCurry, Luke McKelvie, Kyle Nichols, Ken Root and Peter Tomlinson.
We would also like to thank the following chapters for their participation
this year: North Dakota State, Iowa State, Missouri, Nebraska, Minnesota,
North Carolina State, Auburn, Oklahoma State, Colorado State, Michigan
State, Maine, Cal Poly, New Hampshire, Florida, Louisiana State, Kansas
State, Maryland, Tennessee - Knoxville, Western Illinois, Tennessee -
Martin, Murray State, Southern Illinois, Illinois State, Middle Tennessee
State, Wyoming, Northwest MO State, Tarleton State, Idaho and Southwest MO
State.
We hope to see all of our chapters take advantage of this school next year,
which is mostly paid by the Educational Foundation of Alpha Gamma Rho. We
can also put on regional recruitment workshops in your area. If your chapter
has any questions about these services or would like to report an alumnus
who would like to help, please contact Josh Terhune in the Home Office at
(816) 891-9200 x 16. n
Undergraduate chapter recipients of awards granted by Wisconsin - Madison
Educational Foundation and the National Educational Foundation were honored
at the annual Founder’s Day banquet on Saturday,
April 5, in the presence of approximately 100 alumni, undergrads and
spouses.
A member from each class is selected to be recognized as the Outstanding
individual and a special award established by alumnus, Dale Bruhn, is also
given.n
