Text Box: Many alumni brothers were recognized for their efforts raising funds and supervising construction. Major donors Lewis C. Smith and his wife Martha received special recognition with this oil portrait of Brother Smith. Since graduation in 1950 from NCSU, he has served on the Nu Club board and in many other ways. His portrait is now displayed in the formal living room alongside a 1938 oil portrait of the late Dr. J. B. Hoffmann. He was a Dean of Forestry at N.C. State and AGR adviser credited with keeping Nu Chapter going during World War II.

Grand President Mike Jackson, Phil Josephson, various national board and committee members participated in Founder's day festivities April 5 when the new $2.7 million Nu Chapter house was dedicated. It is located at 3501 Avent Ferry Rd. in Raleigh near the N.C. State University Centennial Campus. All AGRs are invited to visit North Carolina and, while there, to view Nu's progress.
