On April 27, 2003 the Alpha Theta Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity held its annual Founder's Day celebration. This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Alpha Theta Chapter at the University of Maryland.

The festivities were attended by more than 100 alumni, undergrads, family and friends.

The day began with a welcome from Alumni Association president Kevin Hedge, an invocation by Noble Ruler - Alfred Godfrey, a delicious buffet, which included roast pig and two guest speakers. Paul Weller spoke about the history of the chapter and its members, stating that there were numerous paths that brothers followed after leaving the chapter house, but always one bond between them, membership in the fraternity. Gene Swackhamer spoke about the importance of reflection on history to prepare for the future.

The guest speakers were followed by special awards presentations to Charles and Judy Iager and House Director Irene Kao. After a few closing remarks, the live entertainment kicked in and provided a lively atmosphere for the remainder of the afternoon.

Alumni and undergrads alike all contributed to the celebration by providing a roast pig (and the crew to stay up all night and roast it), commemorative polo shirts, live entertainment and a friendly atmosphere for all who attended.
