Remembering Bill Sallee
Sallee grew up on a large crop and livestock production farm west of Pawnee, Oklahoma. After two years overseas, in World War II, he attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a BS Degree in Animal Science. He then began his professional career as an Extension Service Agent in Greer County, Oklahoma. In 1958, he joined the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) in Washington D.C. where he was a Program Specialist on developing guidelines for operating cropland retirement programs. He also traveled to state and county offices, providing field assistance in operating the programs. From 1969 to 1980, he was the ASCS liaison to the Office of the Secretary of Agriculture. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 19 at First Baptist Church of Richardson in Richardson, Texas.
