Remembering Bill Sallee

 

    William, Bill, Sallee passed away the morning of Thursday, September 15, 2005.  Bill became a member of the Pi Chapter at Oklahoma State University in 1948.  He was honored as a Brother of the Century and served as the Dallas/Fort Worth Alumni Chapter President from 1999 to 2001.  He was also active in the Washington D.C. Alumni Chapter serving twice as President. In 1994 the chapter presented him with The Man of The Year Award plaque.

    Sallee grew up on a large crop and livestock production farm west of Pawnee, Oklahoma. After two years overseas, in World War II, he attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a BS Degree in Animal Science. He then began his professional career as an Extension Service Agent in Greer County, Oklahoma. In 1958, he joined the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) in Washington D.C. where he was a Program Specialist on developing guidelines for operating cropland retirement programs. He also traveled to state and county offices, providing field assistance in operating the programs. From 1969 to 1980, he was the ASCS liaison to the Office of the Secretary of Agriculture.

    The funeral service will be held Monday, September 19 at First Baptist Church of Richardson in Richardson, Texas.
